Inter School Sports Carnival
An inter-school sports carnival was organized on 2 nd March, 2023 by Loyola Primary School, Pune. It was a day-long event, and teams from renowned schools participated in the carnival. The event aimed to provide an opportunity for students to showcase their athletic abilities and promote healthy competition. The chief guests were Fr. Wilfred Fernandes and Mr Hector Andrade.
The sports carnival comprised of various events like the long jump, shot put, relay, triathlon, swimming, basketball and football. Each school involved in the event participated enthusiastically.
St. Vincent’s Primary School emerged as the winners in the football and basketball events. Anvick Lobo from class 3A was awarded the best footballer of the tournament, while Pranav Gandle from class 4C was awarded with the best basketball player trophy. In track and field events, Rayyan Punjabi from class 4D was awarded the best athlete, securing the first place in most track events. Advick Gonjari (4B) and Shiven Khare (4C) bagged the first and second place respectively in shot-put. Yahya Shaikh from class 4C won the second place in the long jump event. St Vincent’s also secured the third place in the obstacle race team event, which comprised of various obstacles like the Wen, Military Crawling, Balancing beams, etc. In swimming, Kabir Paiyawal from 3A was awarded the best swimmer, who also bagged the first and the second place in the freestyle and breaststroke events. The overall championship trophy was won by St. Vincent’s Primary School,
while the host school secured the second position. The inter-school sports carnival was a grand success as it fostered a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among the participating schools. The event concluded with the National Anthem, and all participants went home with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
