A Cultural German Camp – Kochi

The Goethe Institute, Pune, organized a German camp in Cochin from the 22nd of May to the 26th of May. Ranveer Jagtap, Ritam Adhikary, Laksh Pardeshi and Ayden Ambrose, and their teacher Ms Manila Williams participated in the camp. A total of 112 students from various parts of the country attended the camp. These students were accommodated at Lé Meridian, Kochi. Over the next four days, the students gained valuable insights into German work culture, the education system, and etiquette. This knowledge was imparted through group activities, enabling the students to engage with peers from different states. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to tour a latex gloves factory and a linen factory. A special session was arranged for the students to interact with former Goethe students. Dr. Syed Ibrahim, the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, delivered a guest lecture, enlightening the students on the opportunities in Germany.

The camp concluded with a fashion show, wherein students represented various professions from their respective states, including farmers, writers, chefs, sportspeople, entrepreneurs, teachers, actors, and many more. The students returned to their home cities with enduring memories.
