Drawing Competition “Caring For Our Common Home”
A Drawing Competition was conducted at St. Vincent’s High School on 18th September 2026 for the students of Std. V to Std. VIII. The competition was held during the first three periods of the school day.
The competition aimed to encourage students to express their creativity while creating awareness about important environmental issues. Each standard was given a different theme related to sustainability and environmental conservation.
The themes for the competition were:
- Std. V – “Harvest Water”: Harvest more water than consuming.
- Std. VI – “Carbon Neutral”: Minimise carbon emissions and offset the rest.
- Std. VII – “Zero Waste to Landfills”: Compost, recycle and avoid sending waste to landfills.
- Std. VIII – “Biodiversity Enhancing”: Maintain gardens and habitats for wildlife.
Students participated enthusiastically and used their artistic skills to portray their understanding of the given themes. Their drawings reflected creative ideas and highlighted the importance of conserving natural resources, reducing waste, controlling carbon emissions and protecting biodiversity.
The competition provided students with an opportunity to combine artistic expression with environmental awareness. It encouraged them to think about practical ways in which they can contribute towards a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
Overall, the Drawing Competition was an enriching and meaningful activity that brought out the creativity of the students while promoting important environmental values.
