159th Annual Prize Giving and Students’ Talent Show

The 159th Annual Prize Giving and Students’ Talent Show of St. Vincent’s High School and Junior College, Pune, was held on Friday, 11th September 2026, at Gulati Hall. Centred around the theme “Caring for Our Common Home,” the evening celebrated the achievements, talents, and creativity of the students while highlighting the importance of environmental responsibility.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp, followed by the School Anthem. The School Choir presented “Africa” by Toto and “Earth Song” by Michael Jackson, setting the tone for the evening’s environmental theme. This was followed by the Annual Report for the academic year 2025–2026.

The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Frazer Mascarenhas SJ, was introduced and felicitated with a potted plant before addressing the gathering. The Prize Distribution Ceremony then recognised students for their achievements in academics, athletics, and other areas of excellence.

The cultural programme featured the Brass Band, the English play “The Canteen on Trial,” the Folk Dance “Amchi Mati Amchi Manasa,” a second Brass Band performance, the Hindi street play “Sujalam Suphalam,” and a vibrant Western Dance. Through music, drama, and dance, the students conveyed messages about plastic pollution, water scarcity, wildlife conservation, environmental responsibility, and the need to care for our shared planet.

The evening concluded with the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem, bringing the celebrations to a dignified close. The theme “Caring for Our Common Home” remained woven throughout the programme, reminding everyone that protecting our planet begins with responsible choices and everyday actions.
