The feast of St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent De Paul School Feast

The celebrations of the feast of our patron, St Vincent de Paul commenced with a week of engaging activities and culminated with a final spiritual and community celebration on September 27th. The celebrations were planned to honour the legacy of St. Vincent de Paul, emphasizing his core virtue of Charity.
The celebratory activities involved students across all sections of the school, from Pre-Primary to Standard 12th. Various competitions were held to engage the students and encourage reflection on the patron saint’s life: Colouring the Picture, Quote Writing Competition and Chart Making. The participation was enthusiastic across all grades. Winners from each class were recognized for their efforts and presented with prizes to encourage their involvement.
On September 26th, a special assembly was conducted for the students and staff. The focus of the assembly was to highlight the essence of the life of St. Vincent de Paul, specifically concentrating on his unwavering virtue of charity and service to the poor. It served as an important spiritual preparation for the main Feast Day.
The Feast Day, September 27th, commenced with the solemn Feast Mass celebrated at St. Xavier’s Church. The main celebrant for the Mass was Rev. Fr. Francis Gonsalves. The central theme of the mass, shared with the entire congregation, was: “Called to be his masterpiece”.
Following the spiritual celebration, a community gathering and fellowship meal was held, bringing together all the Priests, current staff, and ex-staff members of St. Vincent’s High School, fostering a strong sense of community and shared mission. The Feast Day was also marked by a significant institutional milestone: the inauguration of two newly constructed and expanded facilities- The Fr. Joseph Brunner Lobby and the recently expanded Nursery. The inauguration ceremony was conducted at the hands of Rev. Fr. Provincial, Agnelo Mascarenhas.
The successful commemoration of the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul and the inauguration of new facilities reinforce the school's commitment to both its spiritual values and its dedication to providing excellent educational infrastructure.
