CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION – THE FIRE SAFETY DRILL AT ST. VINCENT’S
On 14th November 2025, St Vincent’s High School and Junior College, Pune, conducted a comprehensive Fire Safety and Evacuation Drill as part of the Children’s Day celebrations. The drill aimed to enhance awareness of fire safety, prevention, and emergency preparedness among students and staff. During the morning assembly, the evacuation procedure was explained, after which teachers escorted students to their classrooms for attendance. At the sound of the long bell, classes evacuated in an orderly manner following designated routes to the school stadium.
Superintendent Rohit Ranpise and the Pune Cantonment Fire Brigade team led the demonstration, explaining the Fire Triangle and showcasing techniques such as the blanketing method, proper use of fire extinguishers, and operation of a heavy-duty chain saw for rescue paths. Students also observed different firefighting nozzles, including the revolving nozzle, peacock nozzle, and jet monitor used for high-rise fires. The drill successfully strengthened students’ understanding of emergency response and highlighted the importance of remaining calm during crises. The school expressed their gratitude to the fire brigade team and acknowledged the cooperation of staff and students.
