Report on Awareness Session for Teachers by ILS College Legal Aid Center
On 26th September, an awareness session for teachers was conducted by Professor Meer Ali Sir and his team from the ILS College Legal Aid Center at St. Joseph’s Night High School. The session focused on POCSO, POSH, and student safety.
Professor Meer Ali and his team explained the key provisions of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, emphasizing the role of teachers in protecting students from any form of abuse and ensuring a safe school environment. They also discussed the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act, highlighting the importance of maintaining dignity, respect, and equality within the workplace.
The session further emphasized various student safety measures, including identifying signs of distress, promoting open communication, and creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for students to express their concerns.
